British Studio Pottery Stoneware Jug Honey Speckle Glaze 18.5cm Vintage
A substantial British studio pottery stoneware jug, 18.5cm tall, with a honey and cream iron-speckled glaze — pale celadon-grey at the rim deepening to warm amber and ochre tones across the body, with the natural iron speckling characteristic of reduction-fired stoneware. The form is very well made: a clean tapered profile with deliberate throwing rings visible throughout, a well-pulled strap handle, and a neat pinched pouring spout. The work of an accomplished potter. Marked to the base with what appear to be an incised signature, not yet attributed to a named maker. Any buyer who can identify the mark is welcome to get in touch. The quality of the making suggests a serious studio potter working in the British tradition, most likely 1970s–1980s. Good vintage condition. No chips or cracks. Height: 18.5cm. Estimated date: 1970s–1980s.
