Vintage Cinque Ports Pottery Rye Sussex Vase Mid Century Studio Pottery 21cm

A striking vintage Cinque Ports Pottery vase from Rye, Sussex, with a wonderfully sculptural form and bold hand-decorated geometric design. The vase has a rounded, bulbous body rising into a tall flared neck, finished in rich earthy shades of brown, black and copper. The surface has a beautifully mottled, textured glaze, while the repeated abstract geometric motifs around the body give it a distinctly mid-century character. The underside carries the Cinque Ports Pottery, Rye, Sussex backstamp. A particularly attractive piece of British studio pottery, and a great decorative object for a mid-century, modernist or earthy contemporary interior. Dimensions: Approx. 21 cm high Approx. 14 cm diameter at widest point Condition Vintage condition with a small crack at the top/rim of the vase, which is pictured. There is also age-related crazing visible to the glazed base and the usual minor signs of age and use. The crack has been taken into account when pricing the piece. It remains structurally intact and displays very well, but please study the photographs carefully for condition.
